Solidigm to take over Intel SSD warranty and technical support from October

As a newcomer to the solid state drive market, Solidigm, which took over Intel’s NAND and SSD business from SK Hynix, will begin offering the warranty and technical support for Intel-branded SSDs in October this year. Earlier this month, Solidigm just launched its first consumer NVMe SSD, the P41 Plus series, which uses a PCIe 4.0 x4 host + QLC flash solution.

The Solidigm P41 Plus series is available in M.2 2230 / 2242 / 2280 form factors and 512GB / 1TB / 2TB capacities.

Officially claiming a sustained read speed of 4125 MB/s, they offer a great PCIe 4.0 performance experience at a price that is within the budget of the everyday PC user.

Solidigm also offers Synergy storage software for the P41 Plus to help users who need compatible drivers / Windows applications to monitor SSD operation and other maintenance tools (there is an official free download).

However, there are also rumors that the Solidigm P41 Plus is a spiritual successor to the Intel 670P — the latter is a quad PCIe 3.0 x4 / M.2-2280 product and uses the SM2265 mastering solution from Wisers.

At the same time, Solidigm also announced an updated after-sales process.

"● The Service Pledge does not cover Intel-branded OEM SSDs or hardware covered by resellers, and in addition if consumers submit multiple NAND SSD warranty requests, they may be combined into a single service order.

● Consumers are required to submit a separate return request for NAND SSDs, and tickets and packaging such as shipping slips must be prepared separately and not mixed with other Intel products in one package.
● For more details, please also read the shipping guide carefully for information related to your NAND SSD product (including the return address / recipient's name) to avoid delays."
