Sohu Q2 revenue of $195 million: down 5% year-over-year, online gaming revenue reached $157 million

Sohu Inc. today released its financial results for the second quarter of 2022, IT House said on Aug. 8. Sohu’s total revenue for the second quarter was $195 million (approximately RMB 1.32 billion), down 5 percent year-over-year and up 1 percent sequentially, according to the report.

In the second quarter, GAAP net income attributable to Sohu was $9 million (approximately RMB 60.93 million), compared with net income of $22 million in the same period last year and net income of $3 million in the previous quarter; non-GAAP net income attributable to Sohu was $12 million (approximately RMB 81.24 million), compared with net income of Non-GAAP net income attributable to Sohu was $12.0 million (approximately RMB 81.24 million), compared to net income of $25.0 million in the prior year period and net income of $9.0 million in the prior quarter.

In addition, Sohu reported branded advertising revenue of $25.0 million (approximately RMB169.0 million) in the second quarter of 2022, down 32% year-over-year and up 5% sequentially. Online game revenue was $157 million (approximately RMB 1.063 billion), up 4 percent year-over-year and unchanged from the previous quarter.
