In the latest report from the foreign media, SK Hynix, a memory chip manufacturer of SK Group, has begun to use artificial intelligence technology for the production process of semiconductor products.

The foreign media reports show that SK Hynix is on Tuesday, local time, revealed that they have begun to introduce artificial intelligence solutions into the production process of semiconductors, to improve production efficiency and yield rate.

In the report, the media mentioned that SK Hynix is introducing a virtual measurement AI solution called “Panoptes VM” developed by Gauss Labs, which uses sensor data to predict the outcome of the production process.

SK Hynix is now introducing Gauss Lab’s artificial intelligence solution to the thin film deposition process. Thin film deposition is a key process to cover the thin film on the wafer, the thickness and reflectivity of the film are directly related to the quality of the semiconductor, but because the film is very thin and small, measuring the film on each wafer will require a lot of time and resources.

The media reported that SK Hynix was able to increase yield while improving process dispersion by an average of 21.5% with the introduction of Gauss Labs’ “Panoptes VM” artificial intelligence solution.

SK Hynix and Gauss Labs, which have invested in Gauss Labs, which focuses on industrial artificial intelligence, expect to use the AI solution for more processes after the Panoptes VM works for the thin film deposition process.
