SK Hynix announced on the 25th that it has successfully developed 32GB UDIMM and SODIMM with DDR5 6400Mbps speed, and has provided samples of the product to its customers, according to Korean media reports. According to the report, the DDR5 6400Mbps module product developed by SK Hynix is currently the fastest DDR5 product for PC/Client. A new device called CKD (clock driver) is applied to achieve more stable operation when handling high-speed data over 6400Mbps.

SK Hynix, equipped with CKD for the first time in the industry, has provided samples to PC SoC (System on Chip) company’s customers for system evaluation.

In August, SK Hynix completed customer certification of DDR5 16/32/64GB module products for servers applying 10nm-class 4th generation microprocessing, and in September, all DDR 8/16/32GB UDIMM products for PC/Client also completed customer certification.

SK Hynix plans to complete mass customer certification and start mass production to capture the DDR5 market for future layout.

Ryu Seong-soo, vice president of DRAM product planning at SK Hynix, said, “In response to the difficult situation of gradually deteriorating IT investment and market demand due to global supply chain issues and interest rate hikes to curb inflation, SK Hynix has been continuously converting new DRAM technologies to maintain product competitiveness.”
