March 13, 2013 – SilverStone introduced its new RM51 server chassis last week. Compared to its predecessor, the RM44, the new chassis is taller, providing more space for larger 180mm fans.

This model is the largest server chassis SilverStone has produced to date, featuring a 5U form factor and supporting motherboards up to SSI-EEB, graphics cards up to 455mm, and power supplies up to 190mm.

SilverStone has two Air Penetrator 184i Pro fans pre-installed on the front of the case, with airflow going from front to back, and users can add a 360mm water cooler, and the case comes with a fan mount so you can replace the dual 180mm fans with three 120mm fans as needed.

You can mount the graphics card on top of the case, and there are reserved storage drive mounting holes on top to prevent sagging and misalignment of the graphics card. In addition, you can mount three 2.5-inch SSDs or two 3.5-inch hard drives on the top, and there is a removable drive bay that internally supports mounting four 2.5-inch SSD bays.

That means the RM51 can support up to seven 2.5-inch SSDs, or a combination of four 3.5-inch HDDs and up to four 2.5-inch SSDs.

Other than that, this continues to offer 1 USB Type-C port, 8 PCI expansion slots, mountable slides, its own anti-theft lock, case foot and carrying port.

This chassis is priced at US$489.99 overseas, but it has been put on the Jingdong Mall, and the Bank of China is only 1999 CNY.
