Sigma today announced the 14mm F1.4 DG DN lens, priced at $1599 (currently about RMB 11401), supports L-mount and Sony E-mount.

Sigma says the 14mm F1.4 DG DN | Art is Sigma’s first F1.4 fixed focal length lens with a 14mm focal length, born out of Sigma engineers’ passion for capturing wide, bright, high-resolution and captivating starry skies.

The official 14mm F1.4 DG DN | Art lens profile:

The luxurious configuration of the lens has 15 groups of 19 lenses, including one SLD lens, three FLD lenses and four aspherical lenses, which achieves excellent aberration correction, high resolution and brightness with a large F1.4 aperture in the lens construction.

In addition, sagittal coma, which tends to distort the shape of stars, has been carefully corrected so that the lens provides highly accurate image reproduction at the edge of the frame even at maximum aperture. Ghosting and flare issues have also been addressed through the optical design and coating process, allowing photographers to capture starry skies and night scenes with clarity. The lens is optimized for performance-demanding astrophotography, so it delivers images that exceed expectations in any scene, including landscapes, architecture, snapshots, portraits, and interiors.

The lens also comes with a variety of assistive shooting features, including a customizable AFL button and aperture ring. The lens features a dust- and splash-resistant construction with a water- and dirt-resistant coating on the front surface for safe shooting even in harsh outdoor environments, and an HLA (High-Speed Linear Motor) for high-speed, quiet and high-precision autofocus.
