Sichuan power supply tension: Runs three charging piles before charging new energy car owners to experience the woes

This summer, Sichuan Province encountered 60 years of extensive, prolonged extreme heat weather, basin drought led to a significant drop in hydropower generation capacity, and air conditioning cooling load demand far exceeded the expected level, resulting in energy supply facing a serious situation. As a result, many new energy exchange stations and charging piles were suspended, and some owners of new energy vehicles felt the unprecedented pressure of “charging”.

Some new energy car owners posted that they were “either charging or on the way to find a charging pile.”

On the night of August 19, Wang Ting from Dazhou, Sichuan Province drove her electric car to Chengdu, passing through Nanchong City, Wang Ting searched for three charging piles before successfully charging, “It took more than 2 hours to find charging piles, change charging piles, and wait in line for charging,” according to the Extreme News.

The tram driver in Chengdu, Zhang Hui, encountered the same situation. When the vehicle range was still 40 kilometers, Zhang Hui began to look for charging piles, and when the vehicle was charged, the range was only 8 kilometers, “8 kilometers short, I have to ‘hang’ on the road. I just picked up the car less than a month, this will experience the new energy car woes.”

According to statistics, the current national electric car ownership has exceeded 10 million units, sales are still growing rapidly.

If you have a charging pile, you basically don’t have to worry about not being able to charge. The public charging pile may be unavailable due to extreme conditions, and partners who want to buy new energy vehicles need to consider carefully.
