Sharp recently unveiled its latest head-mounted display HMD prototype at the CES 2023 booth.

The display supports input from a variety of devices including computers, cell phones, and VR. The entire device weighs only 175 grams and features two 2K 120Hz screens with anti-glare technology that prevents glare by changing the thickness of the lens to adjust the focus so that the viewing angle does not change even if the focus position moves.

In addition, the display supports the “color pass-through image display function”, that is, equipped with the RGB color camera common in high-end VR headsets, you can see the real world in the screen to achieve the effect of MR.

The Sharp HMD prototype is also equipped with two black-and-white cameras and supports hand tracking, allowing control without a VR grip.

The product listing and price information, Sharp said “is considering commercialization, so do not announce these contents”.
