The machine weighs 159g and measures 153 x 71 x 8.4mm. It uses an aluminum unibody design and an IP68 dustproof and waterproof rating. The battery capacity is increased to 5000mAh (the previous generation was 4570mAh), and colorful colors are available.

Sharp AQUOS Sense8 is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset. Compared with Sense7’s Snapdragon 695, the official test CPU speed is increased by 36% and the GPU speed is increased by 33%. The phone comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, expandable up to 1TB via microSD card.

The machine is equipped with a 6.1-inch IGZO OLED screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2432, a screen brightness of up to 1300 nits, a variable refresh rate of 1-90Hz, and support for “black frame insertion”, which is claimed to extend the experience to 180Hz. The previous generation only had a 60Hz screen.

In terms of imaging, the main camera (1/1.55″) of the machine is equipped with a 50MP sensor with a pixel size of 1.0μm and supports pixel binning to 2.0μm. The machine does not have a telephoto camera, but the main camera supports native 2x zoom. Compared with the previous generation OIS optical anti-shake function has been added. The other camera on the body is an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens.

The Sharp AQUOS Sense8 comes with a microSD slot, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB-C port, and official specifications list a charging time of 160 minutes, without wireless charging.

Additionally, this is a dual-SIM phone with nano-SIM and eSIM, supporting 5G (2.1Gbps) as well as WiMAX 2+ (WiMAX is still popular in Japan). Other wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 5 (ac), Bluetooth 5.1, and NFC, and it also comes with a side fingerprint sensor.

The Sharp AQUOS Sense8 phone is only available in Japan, and dealers show a price of 62,150 yen.
