Sennheiser launches Momentum 4 wireless headphones retailing at $349.95

Sennheiser has announced the Momentum 4 Wireless, a high-end wireless noise-canceling headset that takes a different design language from the series, swapping its signature retro aesthetic for a lighter, more comfortable design that offers “exceptional comfort” and superior active noise cancellation. The wireless headphones will be available for pre-order on August 9 and will hit store shelves on August 23 for a retail price of $349.95.

In addition to the stylistic improvements, another selling point of these headphones is the range performance. Sennheiser says the Momentum 4 can achieve 60 hours of playback time on a full charge, compared to the 20-30 hours typically promised by competitors like Sony’s WH-1000XM5, Bose’s QuietComfort 45 and Apple’s AirPods Max.

The headphones don’t compromise on sound quality either, with the same 42mm drivers tuned by Sennheiser for “excellent dynamics, clarity and musicality”. On top of that, the Momentum 4 headphones also offer better voice call performance. Sennheiser has also moved away from physical button controls and adopted the same click-and-swipe gestures as other popular noise-canceling headphones. While the new headphones can no longer be folded up, they come with improved housing with hard shell protection.

Like their predecessors, the Momentum 4s support multipoint connectivity, wired USB-C audio, and other convenient features, and they feature interchangeable ear cushions – now made of faux leather, rather than the leather Sennheiser previously used. For Bluetooth codecs, the company’s latest headphones support AAC, SBC, aptX and aptX Adaptive.
