At today’s Samsung Artificial Intelligence Forum 2023, Samsung officially announced its self-developed generative AI product Gauss.
According to reports, the large model consists of Samsung Gauss Language, Samsung Gauss Code and Samsung Gauss Image, and is named after the legendary mathematician Johann Carl Friedrich Gauss who established the normal distribution theory, the backbone of machine learning and artificial intelligence.
It can be seen from the naming of the three large models that Gauss will be oriented to fields such as AI chat, AI code, and AI pictures.
Samsung Gauss Language is a generative language model that improves productivity by simplifying tasks such as writing emails, summarizing documents, and translating content. When integrated into products, it can also enhance the consumer experience by enabling smarter device control.
Samsung Gauss Code and the programming assistant that runs on it (code.i) are optimized for in-house software development, allowing developers to write code easily and quickly. It also supports functions such as code description and test case generation through an interactive interface.
Samsung Gauss Image is a generative image model that can generate and edit creative images, including changing and adding styles, while also converting low-resolution images to high-resolution images.
Samsung says Gauss is currently used to improve employee productivity, but will be expanded to various official Samsung apps in the near future to provide new user experiences.
