Samsung has launched a new 98-inch Neo QLED TV in South Korea. Compared with last year’s model, this year’s 98-inch TV has 4K resolution, higher brightness, better image quality, and more powerful speakers, and is priced at 4.5 million won (about 229,500 RMB) in South Korea.

The TV, model KQ98QNB100, features a 98-inch Mini-LED panel with 4K resolution and a maximum brightness of up to 5,000 nits. Thanks to the 14-bit panel and Neo Quantum Processor + processor, its brightness has 16384 levels of adjustment. Its AI-powered image processor can boost non-4K content to 4K resolution, and the new set also features HDR10, HDR10 + and HLG, but still lacks Dolby Vision.

IT Home has learned that the TV has a 6.4.4 channel speaker configuration with a total of 120W. This includes six front-firing speakers, four upward-firing speakers, and four subwoofers with support for Object SoundTracking + and Q-Symphony for better audio and integration with Samsung soundbars.

In addition, the TV has a metal body and is only 19.9 mm thick (35% thinner than the previous generation TV). Running Samsung’s Tizen operating system, it supports Bixby, Alexa, Samsung Health, Samsung TV Plus and SmartThings features. The Samsung KQ98QNB100 will launch in Europe as the QE98QN100B and in the U.S. in the coming months as the QN98QN100B.
