Samsung will launch Galaxy Smart Ring next year, Mass production as early as August

According to Korean media, The Elec reports, Samsung smart ring Galaxy Ring development work is nearing completion, as early as August to start mass production, and plans to go on sale early next year.

The report claims that Samsung has joined hands with a number of supply chain channels and is about to finalise the final version of the Galaxy Ring, and the executives have yet to finalise when mass production will take place.

Samsung’s R&D department and suppliers to finalise the details of mass production, will be reported to Samsung mobile head Lu Tae-won, by his clap when to start mass production.

The report also suggests that even if Samsung chooses to mass-produce the Galaxy Ring in August, it may not be able to deliver it before 2024.

One of the difficulties lies in the need to obtain medical device certification, which, like the Galaxy Watch, involves submitting an application to a certification body and usually takes months.

Samsung has entered into a partnership with Japanese company Meikyo Electronics Co Ltd (MEIKO) to promote the smart ring project.

The report claims that MEIKO is responsible for manufacturing the printed circuit boards (PCBs) for Samsung’s smart ring, which should be called the Galaxy Ring when it hits the market, and is aimed at the health and XR headset markets, which can provide more accurate body/health data than the Galaxy Watch.
