Samsung will launch 77-inch OLED TV and 49-inch OLED gaming monitor in Q1 this year

According to Korean media The Elec, Samsung plans to launch a 77-inch OLED TV and a 49-inch OLED gaming monitor in the first quarter of 2023. This means that Samsung will launch at least 3 OLED TVs and 2 OLED displays this year.

Samsung has launched 55-inch, 65-inch and 77-inch QD-OLED TVs at CES 2023, as well as 34-inch and 49-inch QD-OLED gaming monitors. Samsung launched these products around the “Samsung OLED” brand.

Note that the new 77-inch OLED TV and 49-inch OLED display will continue to use QD-OLED panels from Samsung Display, a subsidiary of Samsung. In fact, Samsung Display declined to make 48-inch OLED panels for TVs, offering to make 49-inch panels instead.

This is because Samsung Display can produce two 77-inch panels and two 48-inch panels on a single Gen 8.5 substrate, or it can choose to produce two 77-inch panels and two 49-inch panels. From a perspective, Samsung Display is more inclined to 49 inches.
