Samsung, the global smartphone market leader in the third quarter of 2023, announced that it will launch a Galaxy phone equipped with generative artificial intelligence (AI) next year. At its third-quarter earnings conference, Samsung announced its revenue for the quarter was 67.4 trillion won and said they are working on introducing AI into their devices.

The South Korean giant said AI in Galaxy devices will bring new experiences to users and they plan to make the technology available in 2024, Businesskorea reported. The technology Samsung is referring to uses an in-device generative AI technology that does not require an Internet connection, which means that generative AI similar to ChatGPT will be applied to Samsung Galaxy phones, and users can access various services through simple commands without having to internet.

The report also mentioned that Samsung is actively developing its own generative AI technology to achieve this goal. Samsung may combine the best of ChatGPT and Google Bard and provide the option to create content based on specific keywords. According to industry insiders, we may see this AI technology in the upcoming Galaxy S24 series.

Additionally, Samsung aims to make the Galaxy S24 series the smartest AI phones ever. This AI technology may also power the Galaxy Z6, which is expected to launch in the second half of 2024. It is reported that Samsung is gearing up to prepare for Apple’s launch of the iPhone 16 series equipped with in-device AI technology in the second half of 2024.
