As part of the CES 2023 event, Samsung has announced a new generation of QD-OLED TVs that it says will offer higher brightness, improved colors and sleeker designs.

The 2022 Samsung QD-OLED TV S95B is only available in 55-inch and 65-inch sizes. In the latest 2023 model, Samsung will offer new 4K QD-OLED TVs in four sizes: 49-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch and 77-inch.

Samsung said that the new QD-OLED panel uses newer OLED HyperEfficient EL materials (applied to the blue light-emitting layer) and IntelliSense AI. Comparable to LG’s latest OLED TV. Samsung says the new material boosts the brightness of each color in RGB.

Samsung also uses artificial intelligence and big data to collect picture information of each pixel in real-time for precise control of light, thereby improving image quality and energy efficiency. Samsung says the 2023 QD-OLED TVs are 25 percent more energy efficient than 2022 models and offer improved picture quality in both dark and bright scenes.

The 2023 QD-OLED TVs are still expected to be equipped with the Samsung Tizen operating system, supporting SmartThings, Samsung Health, Bixby, Alexa, AirPlay 2, HDR10+, Tap View, Tap Sound, etc.

Samsung has yet to announce the models, prices, and availability of its 2023 QD-OLED TVs, and it is expected to do so in the next few days.
