Samsung has been trying to make its products more environmentally friendly in a number of ways. In addition to improving the environmental situation in its supply chain, the company has also introduced eco-friendly accessories for its Galaxy phones and wearable devices, which are currently on display in South Korea.

Samsung has partnered with accessory maker Slash B Slash to launch a range of eco-friendly accessories for its Galaxy smartphones, Galaxy wearables and Freestyle projectors. The company also opened a flash store in Hyundai Seoul, Yeouido, South Korea, to showcase “Eco-Friends” accessories for the Galaxy S23, Galaxy Z Flip 4, Galaxy Buds 2 Pro and Galaxy Watch 5. These accessories are made with over 40% PCM (post-consumer material), including recycled plastic and vegan leather.

Samsung says the project was driven by young (average 20-something) employees. These accessories reflect the MZ generation’s quest for valuable consumption and expression of personal taste.

Samsung debuted its Eco-Friends accessory line at IFA 2022 and has since expanded the availability of such accessories in more than 28 countries. The accessories in the collection feature Gatorade, Hello Kitty, Muzik Tiger, Pokémon, SpongeBob SquarePants, Star Wars, The Simpsons, and more.

The accessories were designed through SMAPP (Samsung Mobile Accessory Partner Program) and in addition to the 39 eco-friendly accessories, the store also showcases 150 other cell phone accessories. Visitors can even customize the accessories to their liking.

To attract more customers to its flash store, Samsung also arranged a live event where artists used the S Pen to create paintings for visitors and sign the accessories for customers.

In addition, according to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung Electronics Mobile Business (MX) Division Module Design Team Leader Park Sung-sun (Vice President) held a press conference on the 13th, Samsung plans to achieve the production of its Galaxy new products using recycled materials by 2025, product packaging banned plastic, and its smartphone recycled plastic use rate to 100% by 2050.
