Google first entered the smartphone market approximately 6 years ago. The first Pixel smartphone was introduced in 2016. Until now, the company has sold approximately 27 million Pixel smartphones. In comparison to Samsung, the number of units sold by Google is reportedly less than even 10% of what Samsung has sold.

We all are aware of the fact that Samsung is currently the market leader in the world of smartphones. It’s ruling as the No.1 smartphone manufacturer across the globe. Anyway, going back to the main headline, the latest report by IDC reveals that Google has managed to sell 27.6 million smartphones since its arrival in the market.
Compared to the tech giant Samsung, it is not even equivalent to 1/10 of the smartphone sold by Samsung in the year 2021 alone. This also concludes that Google needs almost 60 years to sell the same amount of smartphones Samsung does in a year. However, the sale pace of Google might increase in the future and the pace of Samsung might go down.

But this calculation is simply meant for the latest data and is based totally upon that. It is also worth mentioning that Google is a younger champ in the smartphone division while Samsung is already a ruling elite. So, take this comparison just to get an idea about sales. If Google expands its market well, it may compete for head to head with Samsung in the coming years.
