Samsung registers “ISOCELL Zoom” and “ISOCELL Zoom Pro” camera sensor trademarks

Samsung currently uses Sony sensors for Zoom cameras in its flagship products, but it is possible that Samsung will switch to using its internal ISOCELL Zoom sensor in the near future.

Samsung has applied for registration of the “ISOCELL Zoom” and “ISOCELL Zoom Pro” protection trademarks in the UK, attached the following images:

The Samsung ISOCELL sensor has been around for a long time, with previous Galaxy S flagships using a mix of Sony and Samsung image sensors, but the Galaxy S23 Ultra only uses the Samsung 200MP ISOCELL sensor. Samsung has never included the word “Zoom” in the name of the ISOCELL sensor before.

It is unclear if there are any major changes to the zoom camera setup on the Samsung Galaxy S24 range, particularly the S24 Ultra. There are rumours that the Samsung S24 Ultra may feature a single zoom camera with 150x zoom and variable zoom.
