According to Korean media sisajournal-e, Samsung’s smartphone shipments in 2023 are expected to drop to 250 million units, which is lower than the previously set target of 270 million units.

Korean media said that mainly due to the economic slowdown and many other factors, consumers’ demand for low- and mid-priced smartphones was weak, resulting in a decline in Samsung’s shipments.

The report pointed out that shipments in the first quarter of 2023 will be 60 million units, a drop of nearly 20% compared to last year (74 million units).

The report pointed out that the hot sales of the Galaxy S23 series have consolidated Samsung’s profitability in the high-end market, but due to the downturn in the mid-to-low-end market, sales have shrunk sharply.

A report from TrendForce, a division of TrendForce, that Samsung’s phone shipments in the first quarter of 2023 will be 61.5 million units, and will drop by 10% in the second quarter; the total shipments in the first half of this year will be 116.5 million units.
