Routines also give users more control over how frequently they interact with their devices. Features such as sleep mode, and activities set up for work, school, and play, help users merge control of their devices with everyday life activities. Users can set routines to open an application or pair of applications at a given time, toggle on or off Mobile Hotspot or Airplane mode, etc.

Widgets can now be arranged as to user preferences in stacks for easy access to a particular function. Users can as well let the system pick applications and shortcuts with a feature known as a smart suggestion widget. Multitasking also gets big improvements, which bring gesture controls and quick access to apps on the split screen.

For some time, animations on the Samsung One UI have been an issue for numerous users, but this upgrade promises it has a working fix for that. Most other features have to do with the gallery application, AR emojis, notifications, as well as a few other customization features. The Samsung OneUI 5 system updates will be coming to multiple Samsung devices over the coming weeks, growing the connectivity between the Samsung ecosystem.
