At yesterday’s Samsung Artificial Intelligence Forum 2023, Samsung officially announced its self-developed generative AI product Gauss.
In a press release today, Samsung announced the launch of Galaxy AI, bringing a large end-to-side AI model to the new Galaxy flagship phone.
According to reports, the AI Live Translate Call feature will soon provide personal translation services for users with the latest Galaxy AI phones. Since it’s integrated into the native calling feature, there’s no need to use a third-party app to translate. When the user makes a call, audio and text translations will appear on the phone in real time.
In addition, because it is a large model running on the phone side, call translation is completely local, and users do not need to worry about privacy issues.
It is learned from Samsung officials that Galaxy AI will be launched early next year, coinciding with the regular release time of the next generation of Galaxy S series flagship phones (expected to be the Galaxy S24 series).
Wonjoon Choi, executive vice president and head of R&D at Samsung, said: “Mobile technology has the incredible power to empower people around the world with connection, productivity, creativity and more, but until now, we haven’t seen mobile AI take on the role of Ignite this in a truly meaningful way. Galaxy AI is our most comprehensive smart product yet, and it will change the way we think about phones forever.”
Regarding the question of whether Galaxy AI can be used on the National Bank Galaxy S24 series phones, blogger @iICE Universe gave an affirmative answer, saying “Yes, I’m sure.”
