The new Samsung LPDDR5X DRAM launches to succeed the LPDDR5 as an even faster memory option. If we remember, the Realme GT2 Explorer Master came into the smartphone industry using an LPDDR5X RAM. This is not the same as what Samsung is announcing to the global audience today, as the new storage option comes with its benefits.

Samsung is introducing the industry’s faster DRAM memory chip to be in use in smartphones, automobiles, and data centers. Other manufacturers like Micron have already rolled out their DRAM options in use on a handful of devices today. Samsung’s option just like that on the Realme GT2 Explorer Master boasts a speed of 8.5Gbps, the fastest available in the industry.

According to Samsung, its new LPDDR5 DRAM was able to achieve its speed by optimizing a high-speed signal environment between the application processor and memory. Some of the benefits of this new RAM option are that it consumes less power and has good performance. In the coming months, we will begin to see the adoption of this technology into other industries other than smartphones and PC.

Daniel Lee, the Executive Vice President of the Memory Product Planning Team at Samsung Electronics, made note of Qualcomm’s involvement in this milestone. The next generation of Qualcomm Snapdragon processors will make use of the Samsung LPDDR5X DRAM to boost the processor performance. With the next generation of smartphones coming into the industry, we will see the popularity of the new 8.5Gbps speed LPDDR5X DRAM.
