Samsung is expected to launch three high-end smartphones later this year. Two of them are almost confirmed to be the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 folding screen phones. The third device is expected to be the Galaxy S23 FE phone. However, this is reportedly not the case and Samsung may launch a new folding screen phone.

The source Yogesh Brar claimed that Samsung will not launch Galaxy S23 FE phone this year (There are other sources Roland Quandt revealed that Samsung will not release Galaxy S23 FE this year). The new report claims that Samsung will launch its first tri-fold folding screen device by the end of this year, which is expected to be a folding OLED screen with two hinges that can turn from a compact smartphone into a large-screen tablet in seconds.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 will use a new teardrop-shaped hinge that allows the internal screen to fold with a wider radius. The folds will be less noticeable compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4. The device can also be folded completely flat. Both phones also have an IPX8 water resistance rating.

Samsung Display already showed off a tri-fold OLED screen a few years ago, and an improved version of that panel is expected to be used in a tri-fold device launching later this year. The device could also be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 For Galaxy chip. Since this is the first tri-fold folding screen device, consumer users may be concerned about its durability.
