Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4: Third-party Android launcher turns into a Windows Phone

The new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 is available for purchase this Friday, August 26, but if you’re not a fan of the pre-installed Android 12L / OneUI 4.1.1, you can actually transform it into a classic Windows Phone interface with the help of third-party software. Mark Spurell shows off this idea in a new tube video.

To do this, you’ll have to go to the Google Play Store, download and install two separate third-party Android launchers.

One of them is Square Home, which replaces the Galaxy Z Fold4 with a Microsoft Metro-style tiled theme.

Win-X Launcher, on the other hand, can change the foldable, tablet-style internal screen into a more modern Windows 10 desktop look.

As simple as it sounds, the actual hands-on focus was on how to get the two launchers to work together.

To do this, Spurrell downloaded the Bixby Routines app and set it to automatically switch to Win-X Launcher when opening the 7.6-inch internal screen

Of course, to play this game, you’ll have to pay $1,800 for a Galaxy Z Fold4.

Finally, Android Central suggests that Microsoft may bring back more of a Windows Phone era feel to the next-generation Surface Duo.
