The revelations from these two Korean media outlets as follows:

Galaxy Z Fold/Filp 6
The Elec said that Samsung Electronics’ suppliers plan to start producing parts for the Galaxy Z Fold / Filp 6 phones in early May, while the production of parts for last year’s Galaxy Z Fold / Filp 5 started in late May.

This means that the overall schedule for the standard Galaxy Z model is 2 to 3 weeks ahead of last year.

Last year the Galaxy Z 5 series of phones was released on August 11th. Taking into account this change of pace, this year’s conference is expected to be held in advance to the end of July.

Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE
Regarding the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE, “Jiji Weekly e” believes that it will be inferior to the standard Galaxy Z Fold 5 in terms of processor, screen, battery, etc.

Citing sources from the supply chain, the media said that the Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE is expected to have the same specifications as the standard version on the camera. The Elec said that this model will not support a stylus, the body design will be thinner than the standard version, and the weight will be reduced.

Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE is expected to be released in September to October, about a quarter later than the standard version, and at the same time as Apple iPhone 16 to divert consumer attention.

The Elec estimates that Fold 6 FE shipments will be only 200,000 to 300,000 units, and “Jiushi Weekly e” stated that the model will be priced at US$800 (Note: currently about 5,760 RMB).

Samsung Electronics is currently facing severe challenges in the folding screen phone market. The agency DSCC predicts that its sales in the first quarter will be overtaken by Huawei. The downward expansion of the folding screen product line will help Samsung maintain its market share.
