The official date has yet to be confirmed, but some indications are that Samsung will release the new folding screens a month earlier than usual this time around.

Samsung will reportedly start mass production of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 hinges in early June. Previously, Samsung usually produced the hinges at the end of June. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 (SM-F946U) will feature a 6.2-inch external display with a 120Hz Super AMOLED internal display, 50MP+12MP+10MP cameras on the rear, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chip and a 4400mAh battery; it may not have a built-in S Pen slot, but It may not have a built-in S Pen slot, but it will be compatible with the S Pen Fold Edition.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 (SM-F731U) will also feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chip and a 3.4-inch near-square secondary screen (1:1.038 aspect ratio) that allows interaction with notifications, quick settings and widgets without opening the phone. It can also double as a better camera viewfinder.

Samsung’s new generation of folding screen phones features new touchscreen technology, all with a waterdrop hinge and support for IPX8 water resistance.
