Samsung is preparing to launch its 2023 flagship phone, the Galaxy S23 series, in early February. The Samsung Galaxy S23 series will be pre-installed with the One UI 5.1 system based on Android 13. Echoing this, Samsung has started internal testing of One UI 5.1 on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 folding screen. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 folding screen will be launched in August 2022, pre-installed with the One UI 4.1.1 system based on Android 12L, and the device has previously been updated with the official version of Android 13.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is currently running Android 13-based One UI 5.0 system. In addition to the Galaxy Z Fold 4 testing One UI 5.1, Samsung is also conducting internal testing of the One UI 5.1 firmware for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra, with firmware version number S90xEXXU2CVL7.

According to Samsung’s consistent strategy, One UI 5.1 will land on the Galaxy S22 series within a few days after the official release of the Galaxy S23 series. The One UI 5.1 test firmware version number for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is F936NKSU1CVLH. The fourth-to-last letter in the version number is “C,” which indicates that this firmware is the third major One UI update for the Galaxy Z Fold 4. The current Android 13 firmware has the letter “B”.

Samsung One UI 5.1 system will bring some lock screen customization options, battery widgets, etc. Android 13’s Material You design language was not properly adopted by Samsung in One UI 5.0, and One UI 5.1 is likely to bring substantial enhancements and support for Material You.
