Samsung launched two folding screen phones, Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5, last month. So far, the sales of these two phones are pretty good.

The Elec as reported that shipments of the new Galaxy foldable screen phone were 8% to 10% higher than the Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold 4 in the same period last year. Additionally, the outlet claimed that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 accounted for 60% to 65% of shipments, while the Z Fold 5 accounted for 30% to 35%.

However, Samsung may also face some challenges. According to reports, Samsung originally expected to order parts for 12 million to 13 million Z5 series folding screen phones by the end of this year, but this number may be reduced by 1 million units as the global economic recession may affect the sales of folding screen phones.

Nonetheless, the media believes that if the shipments of Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 in 2023 are 10% higher than their predecessors, then Samsung’s annual shipments of Galaxy foldable screen phones will be expected to exceed 10 million units for the first time.

The outlet also claims that Samsung will start producing components for the Galaxy S24 series in mid-October. Additionally, in preparation for the release of the iPhone 15 series, Samsung may release the Galaxy S24 series a month early.
