Samsung will launch the next generation of high-end smartphones early next year – Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24 + and Galaxy S24 Ultra. Some specifications of the new phones have been exposed.

It has been widely reported that Samsung will use both Exynos 2400 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processors in this range of phones, but it is unclear which versions and markets will get which version of the phone.

Some previous reports suggested that the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+ would use Exynos chips, while the Galaxy S24 Ultra would use a Snapdragon processor. Now a new report from TheElec claims that Samsung will launch Exynos 2400 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy versions of the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+.

According to reports, the Exynos 2400 version of the said phone will be launched in Africa, Asia (including South Korea), Europe, and Latin America, while the Snapdragon-powered version will be launched in North America (Canada and the United States).

The Galaxy 24 Ultra will reportedly use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 For Galaxy processor in all countries around the world. The report claims that the decision on how these versions of the Galaxy S24 series of phones will be distributed is in the final stages and is unlikely to change.

It is noticed that Samsung released the Exynos 2400 processor earlier yesterday, which has a 70% faster CPU and 14.7 times faster AI processing power than the previous generation. It is also equipped with an Xclipse 940 GPU based on AMD’s latest RDNA3 architecture. Samsung didn’t provide data on its GPU performance, but said it delivers significantly improved ray tracing performance in games.

The chip is reportedly manufactured on Samsung Foundry’s 4nm LPP+ node and has a 10-core CPU. Previous reports said that the Exynos 2400 has a Cortex-X4 CPU core clocked at 3.1GHz, two Cortex-A720 CPU cores clocked at 2.9GHz, three Cortex-A720 CPU cores clocked at 2.6GHz and four Cortex-A720 CPU cores clocked at 2.6GHz. A Cortex-A520 CPU core clocked at 1.8GHz.

The Xclipse 940 GPU appears to be 30% faster than the Xclipse 930 GPU used in the Exynos 2200, bringing its gaming performance close to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Therefore, it is expected that the GPU performance of the Exynos 2400 is likely to be inferior to that of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

Other features of the chip may include 5G networking with 10Gbps download speeds, dual-band GPS, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, USB 3.2 Type-C port, and two-way satellite connectivity.
