Samsung Exynos 5300 modem announced, expected to debut on Google Pixel 8 series phones

According to SAMMOBILE, Samsung announced a new generation of Exynos modem – Exynos 5300, which is expected to be the first to be used in Google Pixel 8 series phones.

The news shows that the Samsung Exynos 5300 modem is made by Samsung’s 4nm process and is more energy efficient than its predecessor. The modem offers peak download speeds of up to 10Gbps and peak upload speeds of up to 3.87Gbps with ultra-low latency, and supports FR1, FR2 and EN-DC technologies (E-UTRAN New Radio Dual Connection Technology).

In addition, the Exynos 5300 supports millimeter wave in SA and NSA modes as well as 5G networks below 60Hz. In LTE mode, the Exynos 5300 supports peak download speeds of up to 3Gbps and peak upload speeds of up to 422Mbps, and it can also connect to smartphone chipsets via PCIe.

However, Samsung did not disclose whether the modem supports dual SIM dual standby function.
