Samsung Europe Galaxy S10 Lite starts pushing Android 13 / One UI 5.0 release

Samsung is starting to make its mark this week. As the company continues to expand the availability of Android 13 to more devices, the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite has just been added to the list of those upgrading to the official One UI 5.0 release. And, it will be the only Galaxy S10 series model to receive the Android 13 update.

The Samsung One UI 5.0 update is now available for Spanish Galaxy S10 Lite users in Europe, but the push is expected to open up to more countries and regions soon.

The Android 13 / One UI 5.0 update firmware for the Galaxy S10 Lite (SM-G770F) is version number G770FXXU6HVK5. The package also includes a security patch for November 2022, although the latter has been available for the Galaxy S10 Lite since earlier this month.

With the One UI 5.0 update, the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite will get a slightly redesigned user interface, richer lock screen customization options, some sensible changes to the Settings app, and theoretically better UI performance. the Galaxy S10 Lite also gets better multitasking with new multi-window gestures in the labs, but won’t get the new Samsung DeX features because the S10 Lite doesn’t support the desktop environment.

Galaxy S10 Lite users in Europe can download the One UI 5.0 update by opening the Settings app, navigating to “Software Update” and click “Download and Install”.

Unfortunately, for the rest of the Galaxy S10 lineup, the S10 Lite models will remain the only ones to enjoy One UI 5.0. The Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite was released almost exactly a year after the flagship Samsung S10 lineup and comes with Android 10 pre-installed instead of Android 9. This makes the Galaxy S10 Lite eligible for an upgrade to Android 13, while the rest of the S10 lineup will stick with Android 12. This is also the last major firmware update Samsung has in store for the Galaxy S10 Lite.

A few days ago, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Flip 5G international versions received the Android 13 update and now, both phones are getting the update in the U.S. The Sprint and T-Mobile versions come bundled with the November 2022 security patch in these updates and the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Z Flip 5G firmware versions are F700USQU5HVK5 and F707USQU3GVK3, respectively.
