Samsung announces 57-inch Odyssey Neo G9 Gaming Monitor

Samsung launched an impressive series of monitors at CES 2023 for gaming, content creation and productivity.

Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 Monitor

The new Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 Curved Monitor is its most immersive yet, with a 57-inch curved display and an ultra-wide 32:9 aspect ratio. The Neo G9 has a resolution of 7680 x 2160, 8K horizontally, and a pixel density of 140PPI.

The Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 curved display uses Mini LED technology, has a contrast ratio of 1 million: 1, and supports HDR1000. In addition, the display has a matte finish, a refresh rate of 240Hz, and a response time of 1ms.

On the input front, point to DisplayPort 2.1, a first for a gaming monitor, along with HDMI and USB-C ports.

Currently, Apple’s macOS system does not have native support for 8K displays, although this may change with the launch of the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9.

The Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 monitor will hit store shelves next year. However, the price has not been announced yet.

Samsung took the opportunity to remind customers that the Odyssey G8 QD-OLED, which had previously debuted at IFA 2022, will be listed soon.

Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 Display

Samsung combined its OLED and quantum dot technologies to create the Odyssey OLED G8 display, which has a 34-inch 21:9 ratio, 1800R curvature, 3440×1440 resolution, and a maximum refresh rate of 175Hz. In addition, Samsung’s Odyssey OLED display has 10-bit color support, can reach a peak brightness of 1000 nits, and has a GtG response time of 0.1 milliseconds. The 34-inch Odyssey OLED G8 is 3.9mm at its thinnest part and has a metal frame design. In terms of interfaces, the Odyssey OLED G8 is equipped with Micro HDMI (2.1), Mini DP (1.4) and USB-C ports for a variety of connections, and it is also equipped with 5W stereo speakers.
