Samsung Achieves BSI Business Continuity Management Certification Amid ‘Semiconductor Crisis’

The semiconductor market has been in turmoil for the past few years due to supply chain disruptions caused by the epidemic and recent concerns about the recession. Despite these obstacles and Samsung’s expectation that profits from its semiconductor business will be cut in half by 2023, Samsung recently announced that it has been awarded the ISO 22301 certificate for business continuity management systems (BCMS) by the British Standards Institute (BSI).

The ISO 22301 certificate is the international standard for BCMS and represents “the highest level of commitment to business continuity and disaster response, demonstrating the ability of Samsung Electronics’ DS division to recover its resilience or business after a crisis within the global standard.

BSI Korea’s chief operating officer said, “Samsung has shown a strong willingness to have a robust business continuity management system and has demonstrated world-class crisis monitoring and response capabilities.”

Samsung said it will continue to enhance its business resilience and management systems to be able to overcome traditional crises as well as emerging issues such as global supply chain disruptions.

Samsung now aims to secure ISO 22301 certification for its other semiconductor campuses at home and abroad. With these standards in place, the company expects customer confidence to grow.
