SAIC-Volkswagen’s ID. family ordered more than 20,000 units in September

SAIC Volkswagen announced today that orders for the SAIC Volkswagen ID. family exceeded 20,000 units in September, of which ID.3 models accounted for 15,000 units. The ID. family has sold more than 160,000 vehicles as of the end of September.

On July 7, the 2023 SAIC Volkswagen ID.3 announced an immediate discount of up to 37,000 yuan, with prices starting from 125,900 yuan, triggering a wave of buying craze, with a month-on-month increase of 689%.

The length, width and height of the 2023 Volkswagen ID.3 are 4261/1778/1568 mm respectively, the wheelbase is 2765 mm, the trunk volume is 385L-1267L, and the curb weight is 1760kg; it is available in Aurora Green, Cyber Yellow, Crystal White, and Ion Gray. It is equipped with 4-door illuminated door handles, 18/20-inch wheels, suspended roof, Pure/Pro side markers, front/rear parking radar, reversing image, LED high and low beams, automatic headlights, etc.

The interior of the car is equipped with a 5.3-inch digital instrument + a 10-inch floating central control screen, heated exterior mirrors, wireless/wired mobile phone mapping, multi-dimensional rhythmic audio, dual-zone automatic fresh air conditioning, ESP vehicle stabilization, etc. The Extreme Intelligent Edition adds 360-degree panoramic imaging is available as an option.

In terms of power, the car is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 125kW and a maximum torque of 310N·m. It is matched with a single-speed two-stage reducer. It has a built-in 52.8 kWh ternary lithium-ion battery and a pure electric range under CLTC comprehensive working conditions. It can cover 450 kilometers, accelerate from 0 to 50 kilometers in 3 seconds, and have a top speed of 160km/h.

The September car sales of major car companies (as of press time):

  • Lantu Auto delivered 5,010 vehicles in September, a year-on-year increase of 99%; cumulative sales from January to September increased by 102% compared with the same period.
  • Wuling Bingo sold 24,650 vehicles in September, with cumulative sales of 126,174 vehicles.
  • GAC Aion delivered 51,596 new cars in September, a year-on-year increase of 72%; cumulative sales from January to September were 350,986 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 93%.
  • Li Auto delivered 36,060 vehicles in September, a year-on-year increase of 212.7%.
  • Gaohe HiPhi Y model delivered 1,556 units in September, a month-on-month increase of 52.4%.
  • SAIC Volkswagen’s ID. family received orders for more than 20,000 vehicles in September, of which the ID.3 model accounted for 15,000 vehicles. The ID. family has sold more than 160,000 vehicles as of the end of September.
