YouTube channel PBKrеviеws shared the Pixel 8 phone disassembly video and gave a score of 7 (out of 10, the higher the score the easier it is to repair).
The disassembly procedure for the Pixel 8 phone starts with removing the SIM card tray, heating the back to pry open the back glass, and removing the connecting cables.
Next, remove the graphite film used to dissipate heat, unscrew the screws, and remove the aluminium center plate. The Pixel 8’s camera lens glass cover can be removed by heating it.
The disassembly points below:
- Battery glue: The Pixеl 8 has a unique way of holding the battery in place, thus complicating the whole disassembly.
- Screen glue: the Pixel 8’s screen is glued to the bezel, making it more difficult to replace.
- Compact motherboard: The Pixel 8’s motherboard is densely equipped with a variety of components, meaning repairs are more difficult. The motherboard is secured by many screws, some of which are in a hidden state, so users must be careful if they need to remove them.
- Compact Camera Module: The Pixеl 8’s camera module is also very compact, making it difficult to install and replace some of the modules.
