On August 11, Xiaomi announced the Redmi K50 Supreme Edition phone. The Redmi K50 is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 mobile platform and has a starting price of RMB 2,999. Today, a blogger has revealed the configuration information of Redmi’s next-generation flagship phone, the Redmi K60 series.
According to digital blogger @DigitalChat, the only new Redmi K60 series that has been tested with 120W fast charging is the “highest” model with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform model does not use 120W wired fast charging due to its 5500mAh battery, probably because of the lack of space inside the body. The blogger also said that the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform has improved fast charging compared to its predecessor. For reference, the Redmi K50 Standard Edition features 67W fast charging.
In the comments section of the Weibo post, some users asked when Xiaomi would release a phone with 200W fast charging. The blogger replied “Don’t worry”, which means Xiaomi will soon launch a model with 200W fast charging.
According to the blogger, two of the new Redmi K60 series are equipped with a new 2K flexible straight screen with an eye-protection dimming solution. The new Redmi K60 series is not only equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, but also with MediaTek Dimensity processors, and the naming division of the new Redmi K60 series is not confirmed yet.
Redmi’s previously announced Redmi K50 Supreme Edition features a 6.67-inch 2712×1220 flexible OLED straight screen that supports a 120Hz refresh rate, a 20MP (Sony IMX596) lens on the front and a 108MP (Samsung S5KHM6, OIS) main camera + 8MP (Samsung S5K4H7, OIS) on the rear.
