After marking the three-year anniversary of the Redmi K20 series in India, the brand started teasing its upcoming Redmi K series smartphone. The launch date of the Redmi K50i 5G has been revealed officially. The device will be aimed at users with performance and gaming as their top priority in the budget.
Redmi K50i launch date
Redmi India via its official Twitter handle has confirmed the launch date of its upcoming Redmi K50i 5G. The brand will host a launch event on July 20th, 2022 to debut the product in India. The launch event will start at 12:00 pm IST. Just like the Redmi K20/Pro, the Redmi K50i is also expected to be the Redmi’s most premium smartphone in the country.
As of now, it appears that there will be no Pro variant, and only the vanilla Redmi K50i 5G will be available in the country. The teaser image also shows a glimpse of the device’s back panel, which matches the renders that were previously leaked.
Redmi K50i 5G Specifications (rumoured)
The Redmi K50i 5G is expected to be the rebranded version of the Redmi Note 11T Pro 5G. The device will be focused on performance and gaming. It will have a 144Hz IPS LCD panel with centre aligned punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera. The Chinese variant of the device has MediaTek Dimensity 8100 5G chipset which is as powerful as Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G.
The device has a triple rear camera setup with a 64-megapixels primary, 8-megapixels ultrawide and 2-megapixels macro. The device will have a 5080mAh battery with 67W fast wired charging support. It’s worth mentioning that another variant of the device with the same specification has a 4400mAh battery but with a faster 120W wired charging. It’s still a mystery which battery combination will land in India.
