Redmi A1 with Clean-Android 12 Go launched; Price, Specifications

The awaited Redmi A1 smartphone has been finally made official by the brand. The device was spotted earlier on numerous certifications and leaks, and now, the product has been announced officially. The Redmi A1 with features such as an IPS LCD waterdrop notch panel, Android 12 Go Edition with stock ROM for a cleaner and faster experience, and much more.

Being an entry-level budget smartphone, the Redmi A1 offers a quite good 6.52-inches IPS LCD panel with HD+ 1600*720 pixel resolution, standard 60Hz refresh rate and classic waterdrop notch cutout for the selfie camera. Under the hood, it is powered by the MediaTek Helio A22 SoC coupled with DDR4x-based RAM and eMMC 5.1-based internal storage.

It will boot up on Android 12 Go Edition with stock ROM for a cleaner and faster software experience. As for the optics, we have a dual rear camera setup with an 8-megapixels primary camera and a 2-megapixels secondary depth-sensing camera. On the front, we have a 5-megapixel selfie snapper housed in the waterdrop notch cutout.

It is backed by a 5000mAh battery with the support for standard 10W fast wired charging. Additional features include dual-SIM support, a dedicated microSD card slot, single band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.0, GNSS and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It has got special leather-like finish on the rear panel for a standalone experience in the segment.

The Redmi A1 will be available in one and only 2GB RAM + 32 GB ROM variant in India. It has been priced at INR 6,499 (~$81). The device will be available in Light Blue, Classic Black, or Light Green colour options. It will go on sale in the country starting at 4 PM on September 9th, 2022 via Mi.com, Amazon India, Mi Home stores, and retail stores.
