Apple last year said its recycling robot Daisy can recycle 200 iPhones per hour and can recycle 1.2 million iPhones per year.
The Fully Charged Show, an electric vehicle and sustainability YouTube channel, recently visited Daisy to get an in-depth look at how it works.
The video explains how to reduce the mining of metal materials through recycling, shows the Liam 1 and Liam 2 prototypes, and how Daisy punches screws, freezes and destroys batteries, sorts iPhone modules, and more.
Apple says 20% of iPhone materials are made from recycled materials, with the goal that eventually all new iPhones will be made from 100% recycled materials.
