A few days ago, realme India CEO Madhav Sheth revealed that realme will launch an affordable 5G phone in India. He previously said that the brand will not launch a 5G version of the realme 9i for India in the near future, citing the fact that there is no 5G network available in India yet.

But with the opening of 5G spectrum auctions in India, officials have also confirmed that the 5G network in India will be launched in October. Now, realme says it will hold a launch event at 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 18. In addition, officials have previewed the new phone’s specifications.

According to the report, the realme 9i 5G comes with a MediaTek Tiangui 810 chip, a triple rear camera, 4GB+64GB, 4+128GB and 6+128GB storage options, and black, gold and blue color options, and is expected to cost less than Rs. 15,000 (about Rs. 1281).

In April this year, realme launched realme 9 4G in India, which is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 and sells for about $1500.

The realme 9 4G features a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED perforated display with 1080×2400 resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, 409 PPI and 90.8% screen-to-body ratio, as well as 5th generation Corning Gorilla Glass, 1000 nits peak brightness and 10240 brightness level.

The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chip, has a built-in 5000mAh battery, supports 33W fast charging, measures 160.2 x 73.3 x 7.99mm, weighs 178 grams, uses under-screen fingerprint, and has three rear cameras including a 108MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide angle, a 2MP macro lens, and a 16MP front-facing lens.
