Real shots of the new Porsche Taycan revealed

The mid-term facelift Porsche Taycan was officially unveiled at the Shanghai Porsche Experience Center. This is not just a domestic debut, but a global launch event. Today we will show you the difference between this car and the old model. Let’s talk about the conclusion first: In fact, the appearance has not changed much, the main change is the inside!

Don’t want to read my nonsense articles? It doesn’t matter, we have already shot the video before. You can check out the first-hand report from my colleague in Germany, which is very detailed.

There are a total of seven models launched this time. I originally thought the price would be announced, but it wasn’t. The specific price will not be announced until the Beijing Auto Show. If you ask me what is the difference between it and the old model? To be honest, you may not be able to tell it at the moment. The picture below may show the difference more clearly.

The model that came to the premiere today is a European-spec Turbo S model, which may be different from the models officially sold in China. The mid-term facelift of the Porsche Taycan still looks familiar to us, mainly in the details, most obviously in the front part.

The front apron of the Turbo S car series is somewhat different from the previous one. This is also the exclusive appearance design of the Turbo family. Like it? I personally think it is sharper and the aerodynamic effect is better.

The headlight set is a newly designed light set that uses HD Matrix (high-definition matrix) technology. It has a pixel array composed of more than 32,000 LED light sources. The lighting area and lighting brightness can be selected according to real-time road conditions, such as when oncoming traffic is coming at night. The headlights can turn off some LED pixels to prevent them from shining directly into the eyes of other drivers. This technology can significantly improve the safety of driving at night. The range of the high beam can exceed 600 meters. In addition, the shape of the air intake on the front face of the new car has also been adjusted, making the aerodynamic effect even better.

Other parts have not changed much. Open the front trunk lid, and there is still an 81L storage space underneath. Not big, but enough!

The side lines of the car have not changed and are still a familiar formula. However, the shape of the Turbonite color rims makes people feel like modified rims, which is very nice and sexy. Officials claim that the new rims improve the driving range by up to 40 kilometers (under WLTP conditions). In addition, the brake system configuration of the Turbo family has also been upgraded, with PSCB or PCCB as standard.

The charging port on the side of the car reveals the fact that it is a European-standard car. So the real-life model you see today may be a little different from the officially launched model.

The rear of the car has not changed much, and the shapes surrounding both sides have also been slightly changed. This shape also inherits the consistent characteristics of the Porsche model. Although it is a through-type taillight design that is popular today, it is still very family-recognizable.

From the table below, you can see some special configurations of Turbo models. On the next page, we’ll get inside the car to see what the interior of the new model looks like. It is worth mentioning that the mid-term facelift of the Porsche Taycan has also made great efforts to reduce weight. Both the body material and the motor have been reduced in weight, so the weight of the entire vehicle has been reduced by 15kg.
