Razer Edge gaming handheld will launch on January 26th with Wi-Fi and 5G versions

0

The Razer Edge game console will be launched on January 26 in cooperation with the US operator Verizon. There is also a Wi-Fi version.

The Razer Edge Gaming Handheld Wi-Fi is $400. The Founders Edition also includes the Razer Hammerhead Wireless Headset (2021), for a total of $500.

The Razer Edge gaming handheld is equipped with a Kishi V2 Pro control handle, and it is detachable. When disassembled, it looks more like a mobile phone, but it is not clear whether it can make calls.

The Razer Edge gaming handheld is powered by the Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 chip (which appears to be based on the Snapdragon 888). The handheld has active cooling, so it is able to maintain a higher level of performance than a mobile phone. The chip is paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 memory and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage (expandable up to 2TB via microSD card).

The Razer Edge gaming console features a 6.8-inch AMOLED display that supports 2400 x 1080 pixel resolution (20:9) and a 144Hz refresh rate.

All versions of the Razer Edge gaming console support Wi-Fi 6E connections. Stream games from your gaming PC or console, and use game streaming services. Of course, the chip is powerful enough to run native Android games and emulation. The version offered by Verizon has 5G — both sub-6GHz and millimeter wave. Both 6GHz Wi-Fi and 5G offer low latency for the best possible connection.

The Razer Edge gaming console supports Bluetooth 5.2 and features a 3.5mm headphone jack. In addition to the headset, dual speakers with THX spatial audio are available, as well as dual microphones for voice chat. There is also the former 5MP camera (which supports 1080p@60fps video capture).

The Razer Edge gaming handheld has a built-in 5000mAh battery, and the charging speed is not yet known. The device weighs 264 grams by itself and 401 grams with the handle attached, and the body measures 260 x 85 x 11 mm.
