Razer and the United States operator Verizon cooperation launched the Razer Edge gaming handheld 5G and Wi-Fi versions, respectively, 599.99 U.S. dollars and 399.99 U.S. dollars, which Wi-Fi models will be available on February 8.

The Founders Edition of the Razer Edge gaming handheld also comes with the Razer Hammerhead wireless headset (2021) for a total price of $500.

The Razer Edge gaming handheld is powered by a Snapdragon G3x Gen 1 chip with 8GB of LPDDR5 memory and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage (expandable up to 2TB via microSD card) and features a 6.8-inch AMOLED display that supports 2400 x 1080 pixel resolution (20:9) and a 144Hz refresh rate.

The handheld features an active cooling design, so it can maintain a higher level of performance release than a phone. In addition, the Razer Edge gaming handheld is equipped with the Kishi V2 Pro control handle and is detachable, which is more like a phone when removed, but it is not clear if it can make phone calls.

All versions of the Razer Edge gaming handheld support Wi-Fi 6E connectivity. It can stream games through a gaming PC or console, as well as use game streaming services.

The chip is powerful enough to support running native Android games and emulation, and Verizon offers a version with 5G – including sub-6GHz and millimeter wave, with both 6GHz Wi-Fi and 5G providing low latency for optimal connectivity.

It’s worth noting that the handheld primarily plays Android games, but PC games can also be streamed via Microsoft’s Xbox Cloud Gaming (beta) and Nvidia’s GeForce Now.

The Razer Edge gaming handheld supports Bluetooth 5.2 and has a 3.5 mm headphone jack. In addition to the headset, there are dual-way speakers with THX spatial audio, and dual microphones for voice chat. There is also the former 5 MP camera (supports 1080p@60fps video capture).

The Razer Edge gaming handheld has a built-in 5000mAh battery, and it is not clear how fast it charges. The device itself weighs 264 grams and 401 grams with the grip attached, with a body size of 260 x 85 x 11 mm.
