Financial data shows that Apple MacBook foundry Quanta’s 2022 revenue of NT$1.28 trillion (about RMB 284.16 billion) is up 13.47% year-over-year, another record high.

Specifically, Quanta’s consolidated revenue in December 2022 was NT$106.329 billion (approximately RMB 23.605 billion), a decrease of 5.1% month-on-month and a decrease of 14.8% year-on-year. It remained above NT$100 billion for seven consecutive months; The consolidated revenue in the fourth quarter was NT$327.217 billion (approximately RMB 72.642 billion), a decrease of 14.4% quarter-on-quarter and a decrease of 3.4% year-on-year.

Quanta said that in December 2022, notebook computer shipments will be 4.3 million units, which is equivalent to November, but a year-on-year decrease of 36.76%; notebook computer shipments in the fourth quarter of last year were about 12.8 million units, a month-on-month decrease of 17.95%, a year-on-year decrease of 35.68%, in line with expectations; the annual shipment of notebooks in 2022 will be 57.7 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 23.37%.

Looking forward to this quarter, Quanta said that the first quarter is the traditional off-season, coupled with fewer working days, according to past practice, the average quarter-on-quarter decrease in shipments in the first quarter reached double digits. Due to the high base period in the first quarter of last year, notebook shipments are also expected to decrease year-on-year in the current quarter.

Looking forward to 2023, Quanta believes that the overall market conditions are still sluggish. It is expected that the overall notebook shipments this year will decline compared with last year, but Quanta’s shipments are expected to be better than the industry average and will also be higher than the performance before the epidemic and other non-notebook products are expected to continue to grow.
