The relevant data from the report is as follows:

  • Industry leader MediaTek shipped 104.4 million APs, down 31% year-over-year.

Industry insiders said Samsung’s rapid mobile AP growth was mainly due to low-end models such as the Galaxy A53, A33 and M33.

Samsung Electronics released the Exynos 1280 processor in April last year; the Exynos 1380 (on the Galaxy A54) and Exynos 1330 (on the Galaxy A34) processors were released in the first quarter of this year.

According to Strategy Analytics, Samsung Electronics is on track for another strong second quarter with the expected increase in shipments of the Exynos 1380 and 1330 released in the first quarter. The market research firm estimates that Samsung Electronics shipped 20.8 million units in the second quarter, up 19% year-on-year.
