Porsche announced the interior design of the new Macan EV pure electric SUV. The new car interior draws on the Taycan’s driver experience control concept, combining physical buttons and touch screen operations.

The 12.6-inch driver instrument panel supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and has built-in navigation.
10.9-inch central touchscreen equipped with the latest Porsche technology.
The optional 10.9-inch front passenger display can control entertainment and navigation settings, browse media or play videos.It is worth mentioning that the new car will also be equipped with a head-up display that supports augmented reality technology, which can virtually superimpose navigation arrows, driver assistance system warnings and other information on the road.
Just like Tesla, the new car can play racing games while charging. But unlike Tesla, it doesn’t use a steering wheel to control the virtual car.
The Macan EV will share its PPE architecture with the similarly sized Audi Q6 E-tron, scheduled for delivery in 2024. The car was initially planned for launch in 2023 but was delayed due to development difficulties at Cariad, the Volkswagen Group’s software arm.
The SUV’s appearance is slightly different from the petrol version it will be sold alongside, with the main change being a more angular design that replaces the current Macan’s more boxy design. This also gives the headlights a sharper shape, with the daytime running lights at the front replaced by two sets of twin round lights.
The new car will be equipped with a dual-motor four-wheel drive system with a total power of up to 603 horsepower and a peak torque of more than 738lb ft. The body has a weight distribution of 48 percent front to rear and 52 percent, and features wider rear wheels and a performance rear axle for enhanced roadholding and handling.
The new car will also be equipped for the first time with Porsche’s two-stage dampers, which can independently adjust the suspension softness and hardness according to the driving mode and road conditions, thereby improving ride comfort. In addition, the new car will also be equipped with a rear-wheel steering system to further enhance handling flexibility.
In terms of battery life, the Macan EV will be equipped with a 100kWh lithium-ion battery pack, using an 800V architecture and supporting a charging power of up to more than 270kW. Although Porsche has not given an official cruising range, it is expected to be comparable to the Taycan’s 314 miles (Note: approximately 505.33 kilometers).
The Macan EV is an important model in Porsche’s electrification offensive in the coming years, and will be followed by the 718 Boxster EV (2025), Cayenne EV (2025) and Panamera EV (2026). Porsche aims to have electric vehicles make up 50% of its global sales by 2025 and 80% by 2030.
