Xiaomi Redmi K50 Ultra was released on August 12, using a 1.5K OLED straight screen, and two screen partners Tianma and Huaxing Optoelectronics jointly developed. Lu Weibing said that the Redmi K50 Ultra’s 1.5K screen is able to achieve a power consumption close to that of a 1080P screen, which is also the result of hardware and software innovation and upgrades.

Now it seems that the 1.5K screen will not only appear on the Redmi K50 Ultra but also more phones will be equipped with such a screen. According to Weibo blogger @DigitalChat, “1.5K” high-frequency dimming domestic flexible screens will be available one after another, mainly on mid-to-high-end and sub-flagship models, with many planned for the end of next year.

The Redmi K50 Ultra’s 1.5K screen is described as having the following features.

Double-layer circuit alignment design, compared to single-layer alignment, has lower resistance and lower power consumption.

Increase the pixel opening ratio, the efficiency of light passing through increases, to achieve the same brightness, it needs less current and higher luminous efficiency.

Intelligent circuit control, on the other hand, reduces power by dynamically adjusting the light-emitting device to drive voltage, adjusting in real-time according to the screen brightness, and lowering it appropriately when high voltage is not needed.

The Redmi K50 Ultra’s 1.5K straight screen has 446PPi pixel density and is Redmi’s first 12bit screen with up to 68.7 billion colors, while supporting 1920Hz high-frequency PWM, hardware-level low blue, and an SGS Low Visual Fatigue certified phone.
