The company said at the launch of the Raider 7000 processor that PCIe 5.0 SSDs would be available starting in November.

The Flash Memory Summit 2022, AMD and Clusterlink demonstrated an E26 host PCIe Gen5 SSD running on the Rex 7000 platform with a read speed of 10GB/s.

Sources say that the current E26 host chip with 2400MT/s bandwidth 3D-TLC flash can achieve super-fast read speeds of 10 GB/s. After that, the manufacturer will continue to verify the next generation of materials and NAND flash particles, so that the overall performance can be further enhanced to read speeds of up to 12 GB / s or more.

Both AMD and Intel’s latest motherboard platforms already support PCIe 5.0 SSDs, and cooler manufacturers have introduced a number of M.2 active coolers, but no manufacturer has announced an accurate time frame for PCIe 5.0 SSDs to hit the market.
