According to Korean media ETNews, LG Display’s supply of OLED panels for Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro models has increased by 50% compared to last year.

According to the report, LG Display supplies OLED panels for the 6.1-inch iPhone 15 Pro and the 6.6-inch iPhone 15 Pro Max (or iPhone 15 Ultra).

Apple orders received by LG Display have been scheduled from May this year to the end of this year, and the order volume is estimated to exceed 30 million pieces. It is learned from reports that Apple plans to produce 90 million iPhone 15 series phones this year, of which Pro models account for 60%.

LG Display supplied OLED panels for the iPhone 14 Standard Edition and iPhone 14 Pro Max models last year.

Among them, the iPhone 14 Pro Max uses low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) thin-film transistors (TFTs), and the iPhone 14 standard version supplies low-temperature polysilicon (LTPS) TFTs.

The screen supply chain consulting company DSCC previously reported that the cost of low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) is $8 higher than low-temperature polysilicon (LTPS) (currently about 55 RMB), and the cost of panels is $10 higher (The current price is about 69 RMB).

LTPS uses laser heating to generate polysilicon, while LTPO adds an oxidation process, so the cost is more expensive. For consumers, the biggest advantage of LTPO is that it supports a dynamic refresh rate, which can be adjusted in the range of 1-120Hz according to the usage scenario.
